Web Exclusive: Golden Prairie 4-H Club Achievement Day

The Golden Prairie 4-H Club held its achievement day in Forestburg on Monday, May 20.

All 34 of this club’s members showed up for this special day plus friends and family came along to cheer them all on. Colleen Campbell, of Round Hill, judged the horses.

The afternoon began at the Flagstaff Riding Arena as the archery and the junior and senior horse clubs participated in their events there. Aterwards, everyone moved back to the Forestburg Community Hall where the rest competed plus had their annual banquet and awards.

This club has seven projects altogether, including horse, archery, scrapbooking, outdoorsman, busking, photgraphy and creative options are the activities club members have the opportunity to participate in. Club leaders are: Caroline and Grant Boddy, Doug Brown, Robert and Rhonda Congdon, Cheryl Fotheringham, and Pam Fuller.

Marking the record books was done by Dawn Macaborski, Marg Lunty, Mrs. Lindballe, and Lori Abbott.

Each member’s record book and samples of their projects were put on display at the hall.

There are 16 members in the outdoorsman project; they had their teepees on display at the hall.

The busking group gave a demonstration before supper with dancing to a dark light that was most effective.
