Flagstaff Regional Airport (formerly Killam/Sedgewick Airport) hosted its 30th anniversary and Flagstaff County’s 100th Anniversary at the airport on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

There was great excitement as airplanes came in from all directions to help celebrate the airport’s 30th anniversary.

There were planes from Lloydminster, Lacombe, Olds, Fort Saskatchewan, Red Deer, Josephburg, Wainwright, Villeneuve, Airdrie, and Wetaskiwin.

Aviation Alberta was on site with Air Facility Maps for sale.

Ken Beleshko, Executive Director for Aviation Alberta, was also on hand to answer air-related questions.
Beleshko stressed the importance of keeping rural Alberta’s airports alive.

“This airport is a viable airport and is so important to rural Alberta.”
