The Coronation Presbytery held meetings in Forestburg at the Bethel United Church and Alliance Church recently. The Coronation Presbytery has 20 Pastoral Charges and 32 congregations that stretch from the eastern border of Alberta and include the Saskatchewan congregation of Macklin. They go west to Mirror, south to Oyen and Drumheller, and north to Camrose.
These Alliance women raised awareness for the plight of women in the world. They raised funds via sponsorship in the amount of $180 which will go to projects overseen by the Associated Country Women of The World (ACWW).
Lougheed Mayor Deb Smith chaired an Open House meeting with Council on Thursday, May 2, to present the village’s 2012 Financial Statement, 2013 Budget, and the village’s Strategic Plan for 2013-14.
The Hardisty UCW had an early Mother’s Day Strawberry Tea at the United Church on Saturday, May 4, followed by a concert from the River Hills Chorus, based out of Wainwright.
On Apr. 27, the Killam/Forestburg RCMP Detachment was asked to investigate a 911 Emergency call. During the call, nothing was said, and police now have the responsibility to ensure the person who called is okay.
