Flagstaff volunteer firefighters respond to two out-of-county, out-of-control grass fires
The volunteer fire fighters of many Flagstaff municipalities spent a busy week last week, assisting neighbouring counties in fighting two fast moving wind-fed grass fires.
Regional Fire Chief Kim Cannady says that on May 21 the Castor Fire Department asked for assistance with a fire they were having difficulty controlling.

Cannady says there were two graders and four cats working to build fire guards along the coulees in an attempt to stop the fire before it crossed the Battle River into Flagstaff County.
