Thunderstars take Provincial Bantam C Championship at home

The Village of Forestburg came alive this past weekend as they watched their Thunderstars take the gold in Bantam C Provincial Hockey.

The Thunderstars defeated teams from Smoky Lake, Riviere Qui Barre, and Calmar to make it to the semi-finals.

They met Hythe in the semi-final game and one of the best games of the tournament.

The game was tied 2-2 in the beginning of the third period, when the Thunderstars scored twice to make the final game score of 4-2.

In the second semi-final, it was Smoky Lake against Okotoks. Smoky Lake came out with guns a-blazing and beat the Okotoks team 4-0, putting Smoky Lake in the finals against the Thunderstars.

From the first drop of the puck, it was apparent that the Thunderstars came out to win this game.
