Wheat Kings hold 2-0 lead over Lloydminster Bandits
The Killam Wheat Kings faced off against the Lloydminster Bandits in round one of the NEAJBHL playoffs.
Game one of this series was re-scheduled due to inclement weather. On Friday, Feb. 15, the Wheat Kings had home ice advantage and easily won 5-2 over the Bandits in game one.
The Wheaties took the early lead on a goal from Tanner Sather who blasted one in from the blue line, assisted by Jordan Sand.
Killam took the two goal lead on a goal by Mike McTavish, assisted by Sather and Sand on the power-play.
The Bandits narrowed the gap on a goal late in the period to make the score 2-1 for the boys in green after one.
The second period was rough with great action on net and on the boards. The Wheat Kings scored the lone goal of the period on the power-play by Wyatt Fraser from Myles Ellert and Dylan Herder for the 3-1 lead after two.
