Wheat Kings win last home game, secure 2nd place in Division
The Killam Wheat Kings of the NEAJBHL ended their regular season on a high note with two wins and four points to secure second place in the South Division and third place overall.
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, the Wheat Kings hosted the Vermilion Tigers in the Wheatie’s last home game of the season.
The Tigers edged out the Wheaties in shots on net 40-39. The Wheat Kings took full advantage with the extra attacker going 3-5 on the power-play, while holding the visitors at 0-3.
The score was tied at a goal apiece after the first period. Shelby Badry scored, assisted by Lucas Fraser.
The Wheat Kings took a two-goal lead on a pair of power-play goals in the second period.
