Flagstaff County makes changes to Investment Grants
Flagstaff County offers Investment grants throughout the year, meant to help communities offer new short-term programs, or hold events, that fall in the recreation, arts, and culture categories, and has made changes to their program since introducing them last year make funding more accessible.
With funds from $1,000 available to single groups, and up to $5,000 in inter-community projects available to apply against expenses, the program does not require matching funds.
The program divides the year into four three-month segments, making a maximum of $7,000 available during each quarter-year.
Once the $7,000 cap is reached, no further funds will be distributed until the following quarter.
According to Comm-unity Recreation Liaison Jim Fedyk, applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications are accepted in any of four categories, projects must fit into one of the four, or the application will not be eligible, Fedyk says.
The four categories are Family, Youth (defined as between age 12 and 18), Seniors, and Pioneer Projects.
While Family, Youth, and Seniors must promote participation amongst the targeted groups, Pioneer Projects are defined as new to, or not currently operation short term programming within the Flagstaff County region.
