Wheat Kings keep point streak alive

The Killam Junior B Wheat Kings had a two wins on the weekend, resulting in four points and an eight-game point streak for the team.

Wheatie center Austin Wilson served his last game of a three-game suspension on Friday at the home game, and team top scorer James Newby joined him in the stands after being ejected in the second period.

The team played hard as a group and came up with the win. Six different players scored the six goals for the team over the two games, showing how much depth the team has.

Coach Kelvin Tuftin said of the team’s weekend performance, “It has been a gradual climb to being a complete team effort and now we’re starting to see the rewards of everyone’s hard work.

“The boys have really turned a corner in regards to a complete game effort and what it takes to win the game no matter what the challenges were.”
