Long awaited Doll Museum grand opening

The Alliance Museum officially opened their new doll museum on Saturday, May 12. The new museum is located directly behind the old museum building.

The grand opening had all board members dressed in period dress especially for the occasion.

“This all started two years ago when Millie Duncan started looking for a new home for her 800 plus dolls and all their accessories; stuff that Larry, Millie’s husband, had made to go with the dolls such as an icebox, a pharmacy, the doctor’s office, milliner’s shop, and more,” laughed Museum Board Chair Del Wickstrom as he ad-dressed the 75 people in attendance for the opening.

“She approached Forest-burg and it seemed like it was a go but then they decided that they had no room so then she approached the Village of Alliance and after thinking about it for a while, they agreed to take on the project.
