Forestburg designates old arena for new riding arena

Bob Coutts, the Secretary/Treasurer of the Forestburg Agricultural Society, met Tuesday, Apr. 10 with some interested riding club people at the old Forestburg Arena.

On the table was a discussion regarding a new shared user agreement for the Forestburg Riding Arena with the Forestburg Ag. Society the Forestburg Kinsman R.V. Park, and the Forestburg Arena Association. 

This will be the only riding arena in the Flagstaff County and could attract users from the areas around Forestburg, Heisler, Strome, Killam, Sedgewick, Lougheed, Galahad, Castor and Halkirk.

The economic spin-offs could be very substantial for local retail, restaurants, gas stations and the local Veterinarian.

The agreement will be reviewed on an annual basis and includes such items as the washrooms, making sure the facilities will be cleaned after each use, the power for the building, the hours of use, and parking of the vehicles.
