RCMP still dealing with resource-wasting false alarms

The Killam RCMP detachment had to investigate three false 911 calls, 25 911 call hang ups, and 11 false residential and commercial alarms in the month of March.

“That’s still a substantial waste of resources,” says NCO Sgt. Greg Gerbrandt.

RCMP dealt with two complaints of assault in March, both in Forestburg. Alcohol was likely a factor in the Mar. 21 complaint, says Gerbrandt, but the other was hockey related.
