Wheat Kings best Vegreville Rangers in first game of NEAJBHL semi-finals

The Killam Jr. B Wheat Kings played their first game of the semi-finals on Saturday in Vegreville, defeating the Rangers 6-2.

Wheat King Jordan Sand opened the scoring in the first period, assisted by James Newby and Austin Wilson, ending the first period in the lead.

During the second, another two Wheat Kings goals, from Travis Thompson, assisted by Jason Yuha and Mike Mctavish, and Newby on the power-play assisted by Damian Mackinnon, with only one answering Ranger goal on a power-play later in the period left the Wheat Kings ahead 3-1 at the end of the second.
