Flagstaff County has partnered with Heritage Collaborative Inc. in a pilot project to document heritage barns within the county.

This project, introduced Friday in a information session held at the County administrative offices, will consist of documenting and recording information about any potential heritage barn, which is any barn that was built prior to 1960, and constructed with traditional methods and materials.

The goal of the project is to increase the understanding and appreciation of rural agriculture’s history, by encouraging the appreciation and preservation of these historic buildings.
