Hailey Nichol, eight, daughter of Jim and Deanne (Bergum) Nichol of Leduc, and her little sister Madyson, four, stopped in Sedgewick last Tuesday to have their long hair cut and donated to make wigs for children with cancer.
Mom Deanne had a couple of friends from Sedgewick whose girls had donated hair, and talked to daughter Hailey about it.
Hailey, who plays ringette for the Leduc Jaguars, had also raised $1,600 in pledges, the highest of her team, to play in the ‘Ringette Scores on Cancer’ tournament at the end of January, and got the chance to play ringette at West Edmonton Mall.
“It was really fun,” Hailey said, “I had a couple of friends on my team, too.”
Hailey has always had long hair, so has little sister Madyson, but Hailey decided she wanted to donate her hair.
