Playoffs started for the senior men in the Battle River Hockey League last week.
Fans around Flagstaff County were treated to some great action as teams battled to earn the honour of being the 2011/2012 BRHL Champions.
The Daysland North-stars opened their series with the Big Valley Oil Kings on Feb. 1 with a 6-3 win over the visitors, in which the Oil Kings were on the wrong side of a few officiating calls.
In Friday’s game, the Northstars came out firing on all cylinders and won 8-5.
The Hardisty Stampeders had a tough loss handed to them courtesy of the Irma Aces in game one of their series, losing 5-7 in Hardisty.
In game two, the Stampeders travelled to Irma where they shut out the home team by a score of 3-0.
The Sedgewick Sabres opened their best-of-seven series against the Tofield Satellites on Saturday, Feb. 4 at home.
Due to some technical issues with the ice, the game was delayed as maintenance was performed to fix the problems. The Sabres came out on top by a score of 7-4.
