The Killam Wheat Kings Junior B hockey team faced off against the Lloydminster Bandits on Saturday in Killam.
There was a large crowd present to watch this important game, as this was the Wheat Kings chance to move up in the standings; with a win, they could advance to second place in the North East Alberta Junior B Hockey League (NEAJBHL).
The visiting Bandits were first on the scoreboard with a goal by Chris Romanchuk; but their lead was short-lived because 12 seconds later Wheat Kings Jason Yuha scored with Cole Flad and Travis Thompson assisting.
Five minutes later, Austin Wilson scored a short-handed goal from James Newby to put the home team up by one.
