Nights Alive opens doors to students age 14 – 17

The new Flagstaff County youth initiative, Nights Alive, opened their doors for the first time on Tuesday, Sept. 4 in Sedgewick, and director Nancy Schurman is excited about the reaction she got from the students who stopped in.

The centre is virtually unrecognizable from the old Flagstaff County Administration Building, having erupted into a riot of bright colours in every room.

There’s an art and visual aids room, billiards room, darts room, ping-pong room, music room, and a quiet room where students could sit and do homework.

In the large, open great room, there are comfy couches and big screen televisions, with foosball and air hockey tables, along with two gaming systems with the latest technology.
