November 6, 1931 –
October 30, 2014

Gus passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years after a courageous battle with cancer, in the Viking Health Centre with family at his side.

He leaves to mourn – wife Shirley, sons Terry (Val), Curtiss (Carrie), grandchildren and great-grandkids Denton (Brandi and Cooper), Marcia (Steven and Jaxon), Hope and Simon. Funeral service was held at Viking Lutheran Church November 4.

The family cannot exemplify the quality of our health care teams at the Viking Clinic, Viking Home Care, and Viking Health Care Centre.

Every procedure, whether simple or complicated, was completed with the utmost professional and compassionate support.

The physicians, nursing staff, pharmacy, and support staff are second to none. We are so fortunate to have a comforting Palliative Care Unit for family serenity as well.

THANK YOU
Thank you to family, friends, and neighbours for the hot meals delivered to the hospital and the generous baskets and baking shared with a visit at the house. The beautiful arrangements of flowers have been distributed and appreciated amongst all our family units.

Special thanks for honouring Gus’ wishes of “Surprise Me” with a very memorable Celebration of Life. Alvin, Lois, my family, Dustun and Barry – your participation was invaluable. And a sincere thank you to the Lutheran Ladies for the bountiful lunch.

Viking Funeral Services – Jeanne, Rose, and Earl – your kind-heartedness along with very thorough arrangements can never be surpassed to make each service unique.

Donations can be made in Gus’ memory to Viking Heath Centre (Palliative Care Unit) Box 92, Viking, AB T0B 4N0.

Sincerely, Shirley and Family.
