RCMP respond to complaint of assault with a weapon, charges declined – this week’s RCMP Report

The Killam RCMP Detachment responded to 42 calls from June 4 to 10.

Ongoing issues with Telus resulted in three false 911 calls, with a fourth call coming from an accidental dial.




Police received a call regarding an abandoned vehicle from a caller asking about the availability of the vehicle for purchase.

RCMP received a call of a dog bite, in Lougheed. No charges were laid, and RCMP spoke to the animal’s owner.

RCMP responded to a complaint of assault with a weapon causing injury, but the complainant declined to press charges. RCMP may use discretion in this type of complaint whether to press charges without a statement, but declined to do so, satisfied that the matter was under control.

Killam RCMP members assisted in executing a warrant for probation.

Police responded to a break and enter complaint from a business in Daysland. Suspects stole four used batteries and an automotive part. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP attended a call of disrupting the peace on a request to intervene, the matter was closed without any charges being laid.




Police responded to two disturbance complaints. A complaint of loud music in Daysland was over when police arrived. Another complaint, a family disagreement, was attended by police, and had ended peacefully.
