Lougheed business celebrates 40 years

John and Carol Larson celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary while also celebrating their company’s 40th anniversary of doing business in the Flagstaff region, on Thursday, June 1 at their shop in Lougheed.




Larson’s Waterwell Drilling hosted a couple of hundred neighbours, customers, former employees, and friends to a day-long celebration that featured a free barbeque lunch.

Daughter Sheena baked and decorated a special cake for the occasion, so big that the couple wondered what they would do with leftovers.

Those worries disappeared, as the large crowd made short work of what was reported to be a delicious treat.

Carol says of the couple’s 40-years, “It’s been great, there have been a lot of great times. There have been some not-so-great times, too, over the years, in particular in the ‘80s when interest rates rose so high.
