The Princess and The Pirate an INCONCEIVABLE success for Flagstaff Players

The Princess and The Pirate performed by the Flagstaff Players over six nights, ended its run on Saturday, April 27 with a medieval supper.

The play was a fun take on the famous cult-classic book and movie, The Princess Bride.

With a cast of 38, counting two mostly not-alive members, like Kenny the vulture, and Dead Fred, the corpse of dread Pirate Roberts, this troup pulled off what must simply be called an extraordinary performance.

Full of action, adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of fun, the Players won over their audience quickly, and kept them entranced to the very end of the play.

It’s hard to choose a standout actor but special kudos to Emily Kennedy for her ‘inconceivably’ good performance of Vizzini, to Derek Imlah, as Inigo Montoya, Kelly Berg as Eastly, and Christopher Edey as Fezzik. In truth, a read through the program provides the names of all outstanding actors in this play.

In fact, as in all good troupes, it was the excellent performance of all that pulled the play together and made it such an exciting and hilarious experience for the audience.

Detailed costumes buoyed the play’s magic, and the simple but effective set design provided a perfect backdrop to very talented performers.
