Local RCMP report: Stolen property recovered as male arrested in Camrose

Between Jan. 6 and Jan. 13 there were six false alarms and 11 motor vehicle collisions reported to Killam RCMP.




On Jan. 6, Camrose RCMP located a vehicle that was reported stolen overnight on Dec. 30 out of Lougheed.

A male was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Killam RCMP members were able to link the male suspect through video surveillance obtained from two businesses that had property stolen.

The male suspect has been linked to several Break and Enters and Thefts that occurred on Dec. 30 in the Killam Detachment area.

Killam RCMP has charged the male suspect with Break and Enter, and Committing Break and Enter with Intent, three counts of Mischief under $5,000, Possession of a Break-in Instrument, and Theft under $5,000.

On Jan. 8, Killam RCMP were advised that a Grey 2000 Dodge Dakota 4×4 was stolen from the Hardisty Bulk Co-op overnight.

The registered owner had parked the vehicle there as he was working in Vegreville. Upon his return, his truck was missing. On Jan. 12, Killam RCMP were advised by Red Deer RCMP that they had recovered the stolen vehicle as it was abandoned in their area. There are no suspects at this time.

On Jan. 10 a female contacted Killam RCMP to report her 2002 800 Polaris snowmobile had been stolen.

She was contacted by Hanna RCMP who explained to her that they had recovered her snowmobile with a stolen truck. The female had not realized that the snowmobile had been stolen. Killam RCMP attended her residence located at Highway 884 and Township Road 415. The snowmobile was stolen out of a seacan.




On Jan. 11, Killam RCMP were on patrol and noticed a Black Dodge Ram in the north ditch of Highway 13, approximately one km. east of the Sedgewick intersection.

They ran the plate number and it came back as a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been stolen from Red Deer.

The Killam RCMP member noted footprints from the truck heading toward the industrial area of Sedgewick. The member followed the tracks which led to the fence of A&B Oilfield. The top barbed wire of the fence had been cut and the culprit had jumped the fence.

The tracks continued through the yard to the northeast side of the shop. Fresh tire tracks were observed leaving the yard, the gate had been opened by pulling off the chain.
