Between Nov. 14 and Nov. 25 Killam RCMP investigated 25 collisions and 10 false alarms.

On Nov. 17, RCMP were contacted by Medicine Hat ALERT(Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team) requesting assistance with an investigation they were conducting.

RCMP set up surveillance on a vehicle while the members of ALERT travelled to Killam. Once the ALERT team arrived, members from Killam RCMP assisted in the arrest of a female staying at the Killam Crossing Hotel. A search warrant was executed and approximately 80 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of methamphetamine, and $1,500 cash was located in the room.

There was an approximate street value of $13,000 for the drugs seized.

The female was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession for the purpose of Trafficking and one count of Possession of property obtained by crime.

She was released on $2,000 cash bail and will appear in Killam Court on Dec. 6.

On Nov. 20, RCMP received a call from a female who stated that her children had noticed three young boys on the southeast side of Killam trying to light a bonfire on the cattails in the slough.

The fire had been put out and the boys were no longer in the area. The female tried to locate the children but was unable to locate them. She said the boys were wearing dark snow suits and were approximately eight to 10 years old.

She said that they probably had the gas in the pop bottles that were still at the scene. RCMP made patrols but were not able to locate the young boys.

On Nov. 23, RCMP received a call from a female who works at Techmation Electric and Control Ltd in Hardisty. She stated that someone broke into their compound and smashed the driver’s window out of two vehicles.
