With school back, the Flagstaff Food Bank has revised list of needs

The Flagstaff Food Bank has sent out a list of items that are presently needed, especially with students heading back to school later this week, and needing items for their lunches.

These are: School snacks, like Bear Paws, or other peanut free pre-packed snacks; Fruity Snacks, the chewy/gummies type; Fruit Cups or mini cans; Snack Crackers; cookies; granola bars; ravioli or mini ravioli; Ichiban-type noodle soups; canned turkey, chicken, or ham flakes; canned fruit, all sizes are needed; canned vegetables; Jello pudding mix (not the pudding cups); Jello mix; pancake mix; syrup; Crystal Lite – drink crystals; family sized snacks, like chips, etc; Cheese Whiz; ranch salad dressing; Minute Rice; Side Kick Noodles; Sick Kick Potatoes; Hamburger Helper; and breakfast cereal.

Flagstaff Food Bank is located at the old County Grader Shop in Killam (5014 – 46 St.) and open Tuesday and Thursday mornings for hamper pickups (11 a.m.). All hampers requests must be made one day prior, by phoning 780-385-0810.

To arrange the drop off/pickup of gently used furniture and appliances, phone 780-385-2419 or 780-385-0810.

Monetary donations (payable to the Flagstaff Food Bank) can be mailed to Box 68, Killam, AB T0B 2L0.

All meat donations must be processed through a licensed meat packing facility and can be tax receipted at its Fair Market Value. If a live cow is donated, the Food Bank is prepared to pay the meat processing costs – contact 780-385-2419 for more information.
