On Friday, July 8, a number of donations were made around the Hardisty area on behalf of the Raymond G Flanagan Fund.

The Fund is through the Aqueduct Foundation, which provides grants to causes and charities based on donor recommendations.

The donations are from the annual income from the donor’s endowed funds in the foundation.

Flanagan was a huge supporter of the Hardisty Lake United Church Camp, Hardisty Cemetery, and Hardisty Rodeo prior to his passing in January of 2011.

Donations made in his name on Friday went to the Hardisty Public Library, in the amount of $3,414.85; the Hardisty Rodeo Association, in the amount of $1,000; and the Hardisty Lake United Church Camp, in the amount of $3,000.

They were presented by Raymond G Flanagan Fund Directors Leighann Kovac and Chris Harrison.

The funding was accepted by Hardisty Public Library Board Member Sherry-Lynn Zwaan, Hardisty Lake United Church Camp Director Melvin Lunty, and Hardisty Rodeo Association Board Member Marge Hogg.
