The Daysland Northstars, newest members of the North Central Senior Hockey League, hosted the Bonnyville Pontiacs who also came from the now disbanded BRHL, on Friday, Nov. 13.

The league may be different but the competitiveness and high calibre of play is the same. The Pontiacs out shot the Stars 39-33 and won 4-2 with an empty net goal to cap it off.

Scoring for the Northstars was Derek Wolbeck and Colin Zimmer. Andy Sinclair was solid between the pipes for the Stars.

The Northstars hosted the Whitecourt Wild on Saturday, Nov. 14. Daysland outshot Whitecourt 59-30, and won 11-6.

The Northstars outplayed the Wild but were caught playing a little sloppy, and the Wild was able to capitalize more than a few times.

It wasn’t pretty, but it’s still two points. The team has a 3-2 record to-date.

The Northstars will be back at home on Friday, Nov. 27 and will host their charity game on Saturday. Nov. 28.

This year the team will be sporting yellow jerseys, which will be up for auction along with other items after the game.

The proceeds are being donated to the family of Jeff McDevitt, who passed away in October of this year while playing hockey, leaving a wife and three daughters. If you would like to donate or help out with event please contact anyone on the Northstars team. See ad in the upcoming November 24 edition of The Community Press.
