Sedgewick elects Shawn Higginson to Council
Sedgewick residents voted in a municipal by-election on Monday, Oct. 19, choosing Shawn Higginson as their newest member of Town Council.
Higginson garnered a total of 118 votes, with opponent Aleska Johnson getting 81 votes.
Sedgewick CAO Amanda Davis says results are unofficial until Friday, Oct. 23 at noon.
Once official, Higgenson will be sworn into office on Oct. 29, says Davis.
Higginson will fill the council spot left from the resignation of Fred Watkins.
