The Battle River Football Association Rams were scheduled to start the season on Wednesday, Sept. 2 facing a new team in the Alberta 6-man league, from Oscar Romero High School in Edmonton, but both teams ended up playing an exhibition game instead.

It was the opposing team’s first actual 6-man game, but they kept up, with both sides moving the ball well and working the kinks out.

The official rematch for this game will take place back in Sedgewick on Sept. 25. The Rams will now officially start the season during their away game this Thursday, Sept. 10, in Redwater.

The first week of six-man saw some high-scoring lopsided games, with Redwater beating L.Y. Cairns 26-6. St. Joseph’s taking down the Heritage Christian Academy 47-17, J.C. Charyk beating Bowden 36-6, Rimbey annihilating Buck Mountain 36-6, and Breton shutting down Harry Collinge School 30-0.
