KWK-3jan-7-2014
The Killam Wheat Kings wrapped up the year with a home game against the Wainwright Bisons on Friday, Dec. 27.

One of the first period highlights was a break-away by captain Austin Wilson to get on the scoreboard when the Wheaties were down by a score of 2-0.

This sparked the team and a pretty wrap-around goal by Dean Brodie tied the score after the first period.

Wainwright took the lead in the second period, albeit briefly, when Brodie scored his second of the night to tie it up.

There was no scoring in the third period. With a 3-3 tie, they headed to overtime.

The Wheaties once again were their own worst enemies taking a penalty late in the third and another one in the extra frame giving the Bisons two extra attackers and allowing them to score the winner.KWK-jan-7-2014
