The Battle River Football Association Rams, who play in the Alberta 6 man Football League, took to the Sedgewick field on Sunday, Aug. 25 to practice.

Assistant Coach Darryl Snider says the team lost a few players who graduated last year, but says all the players from last year returned except for one, and four new players joined the team for this season.

“We expect to have about 20 in the roster this year,” he says.

Coach Kevin Lefsrud and his assistants put the offensive and defensive teams through a number of exercises on Sunday.

Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, and the first game will be against Provost, newcomers to the league this year, sometime in the early part of September.

The team got new helmets this year. The helmet fitting and orientation were held last Sunday in the Sedgewick Rec Centre.

Coaches ran the Rams offence and defence through a number of different exercises on Sunday during practice, including this head-to-head competition for the drop.
