On May 1, Kevin Miller started his new job as Hardisty’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
As part of the shared administration agreement between Hardisty and Lougheed, Miller will act as CAO for Lougheed Council as well.

Miller grew up in Wetaskiwin, where he served as a councillor from 2002 to April 2007, leaving the area at that time to take a management position in Information Technology in Winnipeg.

Miller never forgot the satisfaction he felt in serving his community in council, however, and sometime later when speaking to the Wetaskiwin CAO in office at the same time as he, considered municipal administration for the first time.

“I wasn’t that eager to get back into politics,” says Miller, “but my time on council, even working the ridiculous hours it took, were some of the happiest days of my life.

“Doing good things for my community made me outrageously happy.”
