Sedgewick Rough Stock Rodeo always a great time

Sedgewick’s Rough Stock rodeo was all that it was billed for and more!
On Saturday, Aug. 25 there was a clown by the name of ‘Rootin’ Tootin’ Newton’ that was roaming the grounds making the little ones happy with balloons made especially for them.

Then there was the huge trade fair in the Rec Centre that went from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and had everything a buyer was looking for
Over at the rodeo grounds under cloudy skies and a cool wind the mini chuckwagons got underway and Ron Dunlop, Darrell Buck, Allen Griffith, Christine Brown, Allen Brown, and Kevin Buck raced their mini chucks around the infield, much to the delight of the crowd gathered to watch them.

There are no rules when it comes to these little fellows and boy can they ever run.
At 2 p.m. the Wild Pink Yonder Riders, escorted by Edward Djos, paraded through the rodeo grounds.
In the rodeo grounds there were beer gardens, food concessions, and some lovely pink ladies with Wild Pink Yonder stuff for sale, along with tickets to win a lovely quilt handmade by Verna Steil.

The draw will be made on Sept. 8 and all proceeds will go to the Wild Pink Yonder.
Outside there was sand pit full of coins for the kids to check out plus a bouncy house for them to jump in.They also could get their face painted and have some tattoos.

The heavy horse pull featured nine teams, with three teams in each category.
There were light, medium and heavy horses competing.
