Crescent Point Energy announces plans to ship crude via Battle River Railway

Crescent Point Energy met with residents from Alliance on Tuesday, Aug. 14 to discuss some development plans regarding the company transporting oil by rail from Alliance to points all over Canada.
Field Operation Manager Kevin McGillivray explained Crescent Point’s business strategy.

“We want to develop and exploit by increasing our recovery factors through infill drilling, water-flood optimization, and improved technology to acquire high-quality, large resource-in-place pools with production and reserve upside.
“We maintain a strong balance sheet, significant un-utilized bank line capacity, and a three-and-a-half year hedging program.
“We have operations in Beaverhill Lake, Viking, and at Alberta Bakken.

“We have 300 net sections in the Alliance-Viking area,” McGillivray said.
“In the Alliance area development we are anticipating 25 to 35 wells to be drilled per year with stable production levels.”
