Forestburg Easter traditional Walk with the Cross

Good Friday started in Forestburg with the Walk with the Cross.

Several people met at the Big Knife Villa at 9:30 a.m. to meet up with Reverend Jope and while singing hymns, proceeded to walk the cross up to the Forestburg Community Centre, where a Ecumenical Service was held.

The procession of the palms was followed by the lighting of the Christ Candle.

There was a special presentation called “The Seven Last Words of Christ,” followed by special music from the Walter Jahns Singers.

The service’s offering was to be split between the Flagstaff Victim’s Service Unit and the Canadian Bible Society.

After the service, hot cross buns and coffee were served.
