Daysland Northstars win BRHL Championship for second year in a row

All time most winning team in BRHL history, Daysland Northstars
Game five of the BRHL Championship series scheduled to take place on Tuesday Mar. 20 was cancelled due to bad weather, and took place in Provost on Friday Mar. 23.

The Northstars were looking to clinch the series and the Blades were trying to stay alive being down 3-1 in the series.

The game had everything the fans want to see; pretty goals, amazing saves, body checks, and consistent officiating.

It also had everything fans don’t want to see; disrespectful and out of control players, staff, fans, and the local RCMP.

The tone of the game was set right from the start when Blade player Adam Shirley took a slashing penalty in the first minute of play. Eighteen seconds later on the power-play, Northstar Justin Traut-man scored from Chad Marchand and David Jacobsen to give Daysland the early lead.
