Flagstaff Waste Management truck damaged in fire

Flagstaff Waste Management had just finished doing their scheduled run through Forestburg, Heisler and Galahad Monday when the driver of their compactor truck was heading back to the main office and noticed that his truck seemed to be putting out a little too much smoke to be just exhaust, even in the cold air.

Quick thinking on the part of the driver led to him approach a local landowner, Del Wegenast, who agreed to allow the driver to dump the burning load into a slough on his property.

Galahad Fire Department responded to the scene, where they monitored the smoking pile of debris.
