Deep beneath the Sedgewick Community Hall there lies a secret meeting room, built by and for a secret society called the Freemasons…

This is typical of the nonsensical and misleading propoganda the Masonic fraternity has dealt with for decades, leading people to believe they are a secret society, or worse yet, a cult.

“Basically, the Masons take a good man and make him better,” explained Sean Sheedy of the Harmony Masonic Lodge of Sedgewick, during their Open House last Tuesday evening.

Like a marriage, everybody has secrets within, and while Masons have no great secret they aren’t sharing with the rest of the world, there are small things that a member of the Masonic fraternity is required to keep secret, “to prove that he is a wise enough man to keep a secret,” explains Sheedy. “If you knew our secret,” he added, “you’d probably just laugh.”
