Kimberley Bonnett volunteered her time and efforts during Killam’s Hockey Day to start up and man a booth where those interested in becoming a bone marrow or stem cell donor could sit down and fill out an application.

“I was amazed at the number of people who filled out the application,” said Bonnett, “We had 38 after the first night, and amazingly, 66 in the two days.

“People were coming out of the woodwork to help out,” she marvelled. “Even people without kids in minor hockey volunteered to take a shift at the booth with me.”
